Well,
I followed Dons instructions exactly, but all I could fit in this silly little drawer was a couple of pens-and pencils, and it didn't even close all the way!
How am I supposed to fit a router in there!!

Nice thing about that is you can have the pens pointing any direction you want!

Gosh....Brad, I'm really sorry about that. I'm not sure what could have happened. I must have missed something...

It's a great jig !!! I used mine today. Closed the boxes on my twins and routed away the overhang with my William's jig. Be using it again in a few days to do the binding channels.   I love it.

You will love using this jig Brad! Makes routing the binding/purfling channels virtually effortless!

What trimmer will you mount on it?

I have an old Porter Cable laminate trimmer, not sure what model.
I will post pictures of the finished jig.

I just got mine finished in time to use it on the last guitar I built (L-00). This jig takes all the pain and gnashing of teeth out of routing binding rabbets.

C T Holden makes one. I haven't see it but the picture looks just like Don's. Also there is a guy on Ebay selling plans.

I don't know about table space but it does require a pretty big work surface. The main problem with this jig is that it is so big and that you only use it once or twice per instrument. Finding a table on which to use it isn't nearly as big a problem as finding a place to store it. Storage space is a fair price to pay for a jig that works as well as this does.

Finding a simple way to wall-mount the jig would be a good idea for folks with space considerations. It can't be that hard. Mounting the drawer to a simple shaft going through a couple pillow blocks screwed to a wall would probably work. Then you could just swing it out of the way when it's not being used.

OOOhhhhhh I like that idea Don. I'm going to have to play with that one. I have just started gathering all the materials I need for the jig, but haven't started building. Have to get the tablecsaw motor fixed first, hopefully its just the capacitor. Timely suggestion. Thanks!
